Dan Weaver
President, Westview Youth Football · Head Football Coach, Westview High School

When you entrust your child to Westview Youth Football, you are placing them with one of the most accomplished football minds in Oregon history. Dan Weaver's story is one every kid in our program should know — a walk-on from Redmond, Oregon who wasn't recruited out of high school, who showed up to the University of Oregon with nothing but determination, and who outworked everyone to become one of the finest offensive linemen the program has ever produced.

At Oregon, Dan became a four-year letterman and 37-game starter at center — the most demanding position on the offensive line. He earned All-Pac-10 honors twice, won the Ed Moshofsky Award twice (Oregon's award for the best offensive lineman — given since 1992, only three players in history have won it twice), and was a two-time Rimington Trophy nominee — the national award for the best center in college football. He anchored the line of the 2001 Oregon Ducks, a team that finished #2 in the country with an 11-1 record and a Fiesta Bowl victory over Colorado, averaging 196 rushing yards per game. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest offensive linemen in University of Oregon history, is a member of the University of Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame, and is in the Redmond High School Hall of Fame.

After more than a decade as an active volunteer and coach in the Westview football community, Dan stepped up to become President of Westview Youth Football and was named Head Football Coach at Westview High School — now in his 3rd year leading the Wildcats in Oregon's highly competitive 6A Metro League. His former Oregon teammate Joey Harrington — who went on to play in the NFL — sent a special video message to the Westview team upon Dan's hiring, a reflection of the respect Dan commands throughout the football community. His mission at both levels is identical: develop the whole person, build the right habits, and give every kid the best possible foundation in football and in life.

10+ Years in the Westview Community
Long before becoming President and Head Coach, Dan was volunteering and coaching in this community. The Westview program is personal to him — and it shows every single day.

"We talk about how we care about the next 40 years of your life, not just the four years in high school. When you do that genuinely, kids understand and can see and feel it — because they don't get that very often."

— Dan Weaver, Head Coach, Westview Wildcats · President, Westview Youth Football

The Westview Wildcat Pipeline

What makes Westview Youth Football truly unique is what happens when you zoom out. The same Head Coach leading the Wildcats on Friday nights under the lights at Westview High School is the same person running the youth program. This isn't a coincidence — it's by design. The values, the terminology, the culture, and the standard of excellence are unified from the very first day of flag football all the way through the final varsity snap.

When your child joins WYF as a Kindergartner, they are beginning a journey that — if they choose — can take them all the way to competing in the 6A Metro League as a Westview Wildcat. No program reset. No culture shock. One family. One pipeline. One Wildcat.
