Flag Football
A spring season built just for girls. Grades 3rd through 8th. March through Mother's Day. Competitive, fun, and a direct pathway to high school football through the OSAA.
Girls Flag Football is now a certified OSAA sport in Oregon — meaning high school girls compete officially. Our oldest group trains under OSAA rules, giving athletes a direct competitive pathway into high school football.
Running March through Mother's Day, the spring season gives girls a dedicated time to play without competing with fall sports. A perfect way to stay active and competitive in the off-season.
A dedicated space for girls to develop, compete, and build confidence in a supportive environment designed specifically for them. Coaches focused entirely on girls athletic development.
Westview's Girls Spring Flag Football program is a TVYFL-affiliated spring season open to girls in grades 3rd through 8th. Athletes are grouped by age level and compete against other community programs.

- No prior football experience required
- No Medical Release form required — flag football only
Game rules vary by age level to ensure appropriate competition and development. Our oldest group plays under OSAA Girls Flag Football rules — the same rules used in Oregon high school competition.

- Older levels (7th/8th) transition to OSAA Girls Flag rules
- All Spring Girl Flag Football season rules maintained at the TVYFL website
- Equal play time required at all levels

The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) has officially recognized Girls Flag Football as a certified high school sport. This is a landmark moment for girls athletics in Oregon — and it means the athletes playing in our program today are preparing for genuine high school varsity competition tomorrow.
Our oldest age group (7th/8th grade) trains and competes under OSAA Girls Flag Football rules so that athletes making the transition to high school are already familiar with the game at the highest level.
Athletes are grouped by the grade they are going into for the fall 2026 school year. All levels are girls only and compete within TVYFL.
Introductory level for younger athletes. Focus on fun, fundamentals, and building love of the game in a supportive all-girls environment.
Intermediate level. More structured plays, routes, and defensive schemes. Building the skills needed for more advanced competition.
Advanced level competing under OSAA Girls Flag Football rules. Direct preparation for high school varsity Girls Flag Football at Westview High School.
Spring 2026 registration opened through SportsEngine / TVYFL ahead of the spring season. Registration for Spring 2027 will open in a similar timeframe — follow us for updates.
Registration Closed for Spring 2026Practices and games begin in March. Equipment distributed at or before the first practice. No Medical Release form required for flag football. Bring mouthguard, cleats, and water bottle.
TVYFL league games run throughout the spring. Home and away games across the Portland metro area. Full schedule published through TVYFL once confirmed each season.
The Spring Girls Flag season concludes by Mother's Day — a perfect way to celebrate with family. Jersey purchase option available at season end for $75.

Spring 2026 registration is now closed. Spring 2027 registration will open in late 2026 / early 2027. Email us and we'll make sure you're the first to know when spots open up for next year's season.
